Locked thread
« on: 04 February 2012, 21:57:36 »
Chunk,

I appreciate the concept of your locked thread. However, it might have been a better idea to do what you did and then post the question posed and candidate reponses in an interactive thread.

Granted there are candidates that answer e-mail and others that don't and this is very telling to me about how a candidate will be responsive to the community he/she serves. I still have to believe in an open forum policy from our site.

At the end of the day, people will vote for whom they wish regardless of of opinions on forums. That is a concept that has always terrified other nations. Every 4 years, we have a bloodless revolution.

I am doing it this way to minimize bickering and whining.

Its about their responses and ideas, not about Vincents, Thomasmagnums, TomH's or even Turkey Lurkey's perceptions of other people.

Once both candidates respond, or a week has elapsed, it will be unlocked for open discussion.

Send the email and THEN post a thread.

Or let people email their own questions......... I know you are a stumper for Carl and you are doing what you think is best for your candidate. I respect the poop out of that.....

(I can still say poop right?)

Silly question:
You sent out the question to the addresses listed. How long will you wait for resonses? (What is reasonable?)

I would state that in the letter and also add that their response, or lack thereof, will be published on a forum.

Start your own forum, Vincent.  Then you can ban whoever the hell you want.

I am not a shrink but I did have to sit through enough psychology to recognize passive-aggressive behavior, which, if I remember, is closely akin to full blown schizophrenia.

Vincent:  I can't ban anyone.

Vincent:  Who said I wanted to ban anyone?
