As I said elsewhere, I'm really sorry to hear this, Jeremy. I hope the authorities are being helpful and I certainly hope they catch these jerks.

Hopefully I can make it by the shop again soon and I hope your insurance has you covered.

I'll ask Chief Stahl about it.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

The cover news story is quite interesting, some bickering going on there, and accusing the man already of setting it up. WOW...the speculations are running wild.

Yea it sucks. 99% of the facts they said were wrong.  I just love how some have nothing better to do.  If I had full theft ins. Then you could say it looks funny. My ins kicked in on Monday. It takes some time to get that set up. I took a risk on opening before it kicked in. I lost. I just was not able to afford to have the shop and not be open.

Yea it sucks. 99% of the facts they said were wrong.  I just love how some have nothing better to do.  If I had full theft ins. Then you could say it looks funny. My ins kicked in on Monday. Enough!

I feel really bad about what happened and I am truly upset that a valid business opened and had to close here in Maricopa. We very much welcome any new business.

However, 99% of the facts were wrong? The date was wrong and corrected:
(Correction (2/06/12 @ 4:30 pm)): The theft of the guns was reported Wednesday morning (February 1st), not Thursday as originally stated.)

Past that, the information posted regarding the theft was directly from MPD. It was not from forums, gossip or other sources. The details were the result of a direct conversation with the police department.

The news site held off on posting this to begin with for several reasons, including allowing the investigation to be worked without specific information being published that might harm the investigation.

If there is information that is incorrect or if there are clarifications you want to add, please do. I know ATF and MPD have asked you not to post on forums regarding specifics. If you feel the story was off base, please contact Sam directly. The news site here was founded because of a lack of correct information posted as news from a few incidents several years ago on other outlet's sites.

I thought that spot seemed good because you can't crash a car into an upstairs shop, but that turned out not to be the issue exactly.  :(

My first investment would have been a good safe in my storefront, anchored to the floor.

Yeah
Safe... alarm... insurance...
I can not fathom opening a shop without all of those. If you can't manage to have all of those in place you should have waited.

I can't imagine how pissed I would be if I were someone who had my poop there on consignment either. Finding out the guy had no insurance and was transport my gun(s) in his vehicle everyday back and forth.

+1

The second floor location would have been better to prevent a car driving into the storefront but if it took an hour to break into a safe, that wouldn't be to inviting for criminals.  As it turned out, hauling weapons down the stairs twice a day would give criminals a perfect view of what was happening from several vantage points.

No, the Mexican cartels get their guns from ATF.  Not  only do they get to pick them out, they get a discount.
