Voter Registration / Mail in Ballots
« on: 02 February 2012, 15:31:42 »

Online Reg super easy to do:
https://servicearizona.com/webapp/evoter/selectLanguage - to vote in the upcoming Council/Mayoral election for the City of Maricopa, you must be registered by 2/13/12

All ballots will go out to registered voters the week of 2/22/12.  It is recommended it be mailed in no later than 3/5/12 to ensure proper delivery to the Pinal County Recorder's Office. They must be received no later than the 13th - will not be counted if postmarked that date.  If you forget to mail, you can take the ballot to Pinal County Recorders Office (31 N Pinal Street # E Florence, AZ 85132 Phone: 520-866-6830 or 820 E Cottonwood Ln
Ste A-2, Casa Grande AZ 85122 Phone: 520-866-7488). They will stay open until 7pm on election night to take in walk in ballots.

I am sorry to keep adding to this subject, but the elections are so very important to how we, as citizens of a city, state, and the US create our own future, and that of our children.

For some basic questions about the upcoming election, here is a my older link: http://forum.maricopa360.com/index.php/topic,8802.0.html

I still maintain that if you don't use your resposability to vote to do so, you have not earned the right to bitch.

This election is being done differently than what we have seen in years past and I am upset that I don't go to a polling place this year.

This year will have a different dynamic than in years past. I know the registeerd voter to actual vote ratio will be much higher than in recent years. The last minute 'stumping' will also have much less impact on the outcome. Folks that don't usually vote, will this this year.

I just rec'd a mass email from a Maricopa Resident talking about the change in voting this upcoming election. In that email she reported that voting can be done only via mail or email. That is not the case. You can vote & mail in your ballot or walk it into the Pinal County Recorder's office. That's it. Email is not an option.

I hope that was just someone speaking out of ignorance.  Otherwise, it could be construed as interfering with an election.  That gets one a visit from the FBI.

I don't know her very well....as a matter of fact, may have never actually met her. We've emailed back & forth over the years occasionally about rescue issues and she doesn't actually live within the city limits.  I don't think it was in any way an attempt to interfere w/ the election. I think she was just misinformed. I did set the record straight with her though.

I received my early ballot yesterday.

Was it Buddy T Cat, or Buddy the Cat?  I want to make sure I get it right on the mayoral slot.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

I think Buddy went to the big litter box in the sky, but he would still make a great candidate.  After all, they kept wheeling Strom Thurmond into the House chamber log after he stopped breathing.

Looks like the rumors were correct.  The only way to vote is by mail.

Thank you City of Maricopa and Pinal County Recorder's Office!  For those who don't find the time to mail in their ballot (already return stamped & addressed) there will be a special locked ballot drop-box @ City Hall (45145 W. Madison Ave - just past the Post Office down Hathaway)  Residents won't be able to vote @ City Hall or get replacement ballots but it is a conveniet option for those that want to drop the ballot off locally.  Below will be included in the ballots that all registered voters will receive in their mailboxes. Ballots are schedule to go in the mail the week of 2/22/12.
