I'm thinking that someone needs to set up a "Haunted Neighborhood" over there in October.  Somehow work it so that each church/business that normally would set up their own haunted house, would decorate one of the deserted homes.

Clean up the area a little, and sell tickets that are good for entry at any one of the homes, or a wrist band that is good for all of the houses.

Make some money, and have some fun.

A few years ago there was a church, more accurately a cult, called The Door.  They're probably still around because these things rarely go away.  In order to make their anti-abortion point, they had a Halloween haunted house with aborted fetuses in jars - half the people going through there were children.

 the most disturbing haunted house I've ever been to was a catholic church. the live abortion reenactment, complete with mangled fetus and screaming mother was one hell of a disturbing display....
