Hypothetical Case in Point
« on: 28 January 2012, 11:18:18 »
Sunbelt likes to say that they are honest, bonded, and above board. Their website says, "Sunbelt Home Watch Services gives you peace of mind, time to do what you want, and a professional service while you are gone."

An unidenitified source has made allegations that workers are "raiding your pantry, jumping on your mattresses, and stealing your jewelry while you're gone."

Officially they deny these allegations, "but", according to Vincent Manfredi, a spokesman for the company, "everyone knows its a lie."
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

See Mr Manfredi, the problem with using the phrase "everybody knows" as justification for your comments...is that others can use it too.

This is just an example.

THERE ARE NO ALLEGATIONS AGAINST SUNBELT. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, THEY ARE A REPUTABLE COMPANY, AND THEY PROVIDE A VALUABLE SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY.

Neither am I. But, you have been going down "this road" ever since you started posting here.

You use the "everybody knows" straw man argument to call into question the character, ethics, and honor of anyone who contradicts what you say, or attempts to defend others against your passive-aggressive attacks.

Based on your actions to date, this has NEVER been about politics, but has always been about seeing how many cheap shots you can take at people and get away with it.

When someone calls "Bullshit" on you, you immediately drop the attack and head off in a different direction.  If someone questions you on the facts, or merits of your attack, you do like you did in the Stolen Signs thread this morning, "Thankfully you have heeded Carl's advice to raise the level of discourse.. heh."

And yet you still cannot let the opportunity for a nasty attack pass you by. You immediately turn around and accuse another user of taking the signs: "I think Mia is the one that took them."

I would pity you Vincent, but you're not worth the effort.

I can, however, deny you the last word in this conversation.

After my last post, I locked the thread.  This is what I received in my inbox as a personal message:

Whahhhhh I am locking my thread...

You are a partisn HACK...

Its ok though because you just proved it for me, Thanks.

Sucks when you can't get the last word in, huh.

Also, any further attempts to contact me offline, or in private, will be made public in this social media arena.  I'm not interested in talking to you, nor hearing anything else you have to say.

You are a partisan hack and you get your thrills out of attacking other people in a way that you would not dare to do in person, face to face.
