The term hipster has never and will never apply to me, may you pull your head out of your ass long enough to not judge me at every opportunity and rather take a chance to inform with facts rather than continuously being a jerk, there is really no need. I realize we do not politically align, but I fail to see that as an issue.

Dude first off the comment was originally made somewhat tongue in cheek. I do however the its narrow minded to act as if there isn't a threat to gunrights at the federal level.
That said I don't have a personal problem with though you seem to feel I do. Honestly I don't. Maybe I am little blunt or speak a little more roughy than you are used to... I don't know. I am sorry if you feel I have a beef with you. I really don't you can ask Chris as we discusssed this very issue a while back.

I don't feel it's narrow minded to be unaware current legislation in favor of gun control, uninformed, possibly. This would be a good opportunity to educate. I do take offense when someone immediately assumes ignorance on my part, that said if your comments are sarcastic it does not translate well into text, maybe using appropriate lingo (JK, LOL, etc) or emoticons would help convey that message.

Fair enough...
If you're willing to clean slate things between the two of us I'll take it.
No harm meant here.

If you would like one example of the federal level threat that specifically relates to the border states here is one.  The DOJ and ATF are working on crafting an extrajudicial(no other legal oversight) unconstitutional long gun registry for BORDER STATES ONLY based on the supposed trafficing of long guns to mexico. They have been attempting to make it mandatory for FFL dealers to reprort anyone who buys multiple long guns in one transaction IN BORDER STATES ONLY so that they be compiled into a list of known "suspicious" purchasers and tracked. So they are creating a program to illegally track otherwise lawful citizens based solely on the fact that they live in a border state and bought more than one long gun in a single purchase.

For what it's worth, this lame law has been upheld..

True, but there are still a number of pending cases that have more legal merit for a challenge.
A lot of folks waiting to see what happens

Love to hear some thoughts on this issue. I'm a total gun advocate. Firearms training should be a part of growing up! But, do we really need to allow people to purchase multiple, as in many, the same type of firearm. Beside brokers and properly licensed dealers, it should throw up a flare that something isn't right. Anyway, just my 2 pennies

And as i recall, during the cold war era, the Russians feared invading this country worse because of the fact of the armed citizens in the States.

Its not just a matter of two of the same gun or the same model. Its arbitrarily any two or more long guns. So buy yourself a rifle and a shotgun at the sametime poof you are flagged... inherit a family collection with more than one rifle or shotgun and have it legally transferred by an ffl dealer to you bing you are flagged too. You buy your kids a pair of .22s for christmas hey you are listed too. All in spite of purchasing legally and having passed the background check. Remember this is ONLY for mexico bordering states...Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California... the law does not effect ANY other states.

I don't know about anyone else here but that damn sure raises a number of red flags with me.

Imagine you lived in a part of town where there werea lot D.U.I.s, and a law that said for people who live ONLY in that part of town anytime they bought more than alcoholic beverage that their name was put on a list and forwarded to the police....

Thanks for the clarification Tom, I did not read the entire propopsed bill, I think just being the border states really sucks, and I think the number should be greater than just 2. If that were the case, I just got flagged in December! Should be greater than 5.
