Thankfully we're reasonably safe from both in Arizona.  Except for the time I left an AK in the closet, in its foam case, with a pile of wet laundry...that was ugly.

I was buying some gun accessories from someplace in Ohio I believe, anyway, in a casual way he started telling me about restrictions in certain states, i politely uninterrupted him and told him I lived in Arizona, he said Oh' you're good to go then!

lol, yes...taking visitors from CA shooting is always a treat.  They can't believe none of my guns are "registered".

Those poor folks who choose to live like that...

My in-laws tried to talk my wife and I into moving to So-Cal. Even as far as offering us a house if we wanted it. I told them half of the guns I own would be illegal in California, and I refuse to live where for arbitrary reasons my freedom is restricted.
I can find no "pros " to living there. I wouldn't even really call it living with the way it is... more like existing.

I think the only guns I would be allowed to keep are the Mosins.  The handgun laws are so silly as to render them useless, as far as I recall.

Actually the Mosin-Nagant might not even be legal. If your Mosin still retains the bayonet lug, and was imported configured as such I beleive to my understanding it would not be legal in Kalifornia...

Great, even less reason to move back.

I do miss the ocean, though!

Mosins with bayonets are legal in CA.  I can't cite the specific law but my father who lives in Sacramento owns 2 of them (as well as 2 Chinese SKS's with bayonettes)

Incidentally, I am in the process of assisting him and my mother with a move down here within the next few months.

Cool good to know. I am not sure why but I thought Ca. had a specific law about bayonets and/or lugs. I am wagering it was from a legislative update that had received, but the law probably didn't get passed.
Either way I am glad someone had the answer.

I think its New York that had some kind of law against them. I seem to recall reading a discussion about that on AR15.com, those guys are cutting off the bayo lug from the standard front sight/gas block.

New York's gun laws suck more than CA's

I wouldn't move back to Communistfornia even if they were allowed or for any other reason. I'm still waiting for the big one to give us some ocean front property!

New York gun laws are a joke, especially handgun laws. I just had a very good friend move to upstate around Albany, he had to leave all is weapons with his brother. He must reside in his particular  county at least 6 months before applying for ownership. He currently has no protection from varmits!

I have no rust issues, thankfully. I also am not aware of any recent federal proposals for more restriction, I doubt AZ has the politician issue either way.

Recent that still have a chance, or recent at all?

BLM recently had a proposal to ban shooting in our stretch of desert. It was rejected.
