Gardening classes

There is a small registration fee for each class and registration is required. You do not have to be a Master Gardener to attend. These are educational opportunities open to everyone so please invite your family, friends and neighbors!

LEARN TO PRUNE YOUR FRUIT TREE
Not sure if you are properly pruning your fruit?  This course will deliver hands-on instruction taught by Pinal county extension experts and Master Gardeners.  The class will be presented at the Maricopa Agricultural Center using trees of various sizes and maturity.

Students will be involved in trimming the following varieties of fruit trees: apple, fig, peach, nectarine, plum, apricot, and pomegranate.  In addition to the fruit trees, the course will also include pruning grape vines.

Learn how to use and sharpen your pruning equipment.

Basic tree propagation class

Description
Get ready for the Spring Salsa Festival with ingredients grown in your own garden. The course will include classroom and hands-on instruction. You will learn the ten steps to a successful vegetable garden. Plant varieties that will be covered: tomatoes, tomatillo, onion, garlic, peppers, salsa herbs and more.
