Close Call at Fry's on Monday
« on: 08 November 2011, 18:56:04 »
A pickup driver had a Diabetic emergency and crashed through the construction fencing surrounding the lot just south of Fry's.  He missed the fuel pumps and the cars parked at the pumps, and buried his truck in a sink hole.

Driver was treated onscene and released to family, and the truck was towed by Lone Coyote Towing.

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

"A pickup driver had a Diabetic emergency"

I am very happy nobody was injured. Diabetic seizures are very scary and overpowering.

Good shots, Dave!

I noticed that RUIN quoted a medical doctor witness who diagnosed "Diabetic Shock" after opening the guys door and turning off the ignition.

They only reason any of us know if might be diabetic, is because one of the paramedics said the word when we were within earshot.

Give the guy a couple of Snickers bars and he was ok.

Diabetic shock smells like grapefruits. Easy to diagnose.

Ahhhh. Gotcha. I remember when Kandi went into DKA. It was bad. And the smell she was emitting was very citrusy.

Yeah, and it's not unheard of for a cop to mistakenly diagnose a diabetic as a DUI.  Their reflexes are messed up and the smell can be mistaken for alcohol.
