I guess panic is panic. It's primal instinct when it sets in and rationality has no bearing. Nevertheless, it just seems so futile to run from the cops anymore. There is so much technology to catch you. Even if they don't get you right away, if they know who you are they will get you later.
This is the second patrol car to be taken in a week. Maybe the cops should start putting OnStar in their cars so that they can be turned off remotely.
