Behavior chart what? Is the back pack to send important messages home? I still have not figured it's purpose out. But boy does he love it.

No. This stays in school. I have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader, and have had behavior charts every year. Most teachers have used a stop-sign concept.

Each day the kid starts on green. Having behavioral issues move them to yellow, then orange, then red if the behavior continues. Some major issues move them directly to red (physical violence).

There has always been some kind of reward system set up for staying on green all day. Last year, for every 5 days of green (consecutively not needed), one daughter got to "visit the treasure chest". Treasure chest was full of cheapy lil' stuffs. Bottles of bubbles, candy, rubber snake (yes, she picked a rubber snake). Silly stuff, but things 6 year olds enjoy.

For the older kids, the prizes are class-cash based. There is a class store once a week, a month, whatever, with items to buy with their class-cash. Last year the older one bought her teacher's chair for a day a couple times. This year's teacher is also putting her plushy chair on the line, so daughter already has a goal.

Of course, your kid might not be talking about a behavior chart. Just a suggestion for threeyearoldangoniezs .

Day three not so good. Picked him up at the right spot, but could not figure out where to drop him off.

"How about you just put him back where you found him?" :-\

NO, don't tell them that. They'll take him back to the school and leave him there.

We are 1-1 on the First Day Scoreboard

Saddleback: Excellent first day in 5th grade.  He has his brother's teacher, too.

DWMS: Dismal Failure. Went to Meet The Teacher night last Thursday, and his schedule was wrong. They had him taking PE instead of Second Year Band.  Promised us it would be fixed.

He came home on Monday totally disgusted. He showed up for band, and was told that the change hadn't been made and he had to go to PE. The whole class sat on the bleachers and talked for the period.

Tuesday morning: I went to the school office and was told that the councilors were busy trying to get schedules straightened out and that electives were at the bottom of the list, but that it would be done.

Tuesday afternoon, he came home all flushed, dehydrated and "wobbly." It seems that they still had not solved the problem, and the braindead PE teacher decided that 106 deg sunny weather was perfect to make 7th graders run around the baseball field several times.

I was on my way to work when he came home, and I sent a email to the councilor that said the school had two options: Change the schedule or I would pick him up early, but he was NOT to go to PE again.

Wednesday morning, the wife and I showed up at the school and sat for over an hour waiting to see the councilor. We were finally able to get her to escalate the change by informing her that Braindead PE Teacher was going to kill our son, because hot weather, excessive exercise, minimal water and asthma are not a good mix. By the time we made our way back to the office and out the door, they had already notified my son that his schedule had been changed.

I guess sitting in a chair and looking intimidating works sometimes.

Wednesday night he came home happy, and told me that he thinks he was not made to be in PE, but was created to make music.   8)

LOL- It gets worse. They told me over the phone that they tried 2 times to deliver him to the correct location. As it turns out, they were over an hour late and only "tried" once. Upon exiting the bus almost 3 hours after class had ended, the driver told the BBsitter he was complaining he was hungry....wierd >:(
