We had a rough first day too...

At end of year last year I had mentioned to the teachers that we wouldn't be back this year because we were moving out of Maricopa. I never officially withdrew him. Well turns out that didn't happen as planned, so I figured we would still be good to go (dumb assumption on my part for sure!). I went to the school a few weeks ago to double check. Seemed all was well. I was getting notices and messages throughout summer about various things so was convinced we were good.

Last night I'm laying in bed and feeling uneasy about it. So I sent the program director (who I had also spoken with and told her about out plan to move) an email just making sure. Turns out she had turned our file over to the district because she thought we weren't' coming back. So, I thought it was going to be a nightmare getting him back re-enrolled and back on the transportation route.

The program director (who is AWESOME and has always been helpful) told me to just bring him to school today and we'll work out the transportation issue.

So 11:25 the bus is here. No notice or anything. Well he wasn't ready because they pick him up an hour before school and i had planned on taking him and had another 45 minutes to get him ready to go. Anyway, bus went without him and I took him as planned.

All in all it worked out and it wasn't the program director's fault. Just miscommunication between us. But made for a chaotic day for us (and probably her, which I did apologize for when I saw her).

I'm with you...I hope tomorrow is smoother.

Are there any DWMS parents on here?  I'm curious to know if your students actually had correct schedules?  If you were actually able to meet the teachers?

We had our first day at Pathway and it was an absolute SUCCESS. My son wasn't happy about being moved there after Kindergarten in Kyrene, nor was my hubby. But I wanted him there, my mommy intuition told me it was the best place for him. So after a last minute decision, he started first grade there today. When I picked him up he was all smiles and told me he LOVES his new school. So far I really like his teacher too. I'm a happy mommy! :)

School went well for us, as always. The biggest drama was the little one waking after her sisters had left. She ran through the house in a panic. "Mom! Where's sisters!?" She got over missing them when I took her to fetch paperwork for preschool.

I woke up and then went to work.  As I noticed all the cars at Pima Butte, I wondered aloud "I bet the kids who wait for the bus by our house probably look older now" and my gf looked at me like I was a total creeper.  I dunno, we drive past the same kids waiting for the bus every day for six months, is that weird to wonder what happened to them?  lol

I tell you what I did not miss. the parent picking up kid car, we are blocking traffic lanes, gauntlet to get into my neighborhood. Hopfully we all get it together tomorrow. I guess our kid did not have the required gear today either. Talk about last minute procrastination.

Fabulous first days reported at our house! One at Kyrene del Milenio, one at Pathway. Everyone was all smiles, and passed out as soon as they hit their beds. :)

My boys are at Saddleback.  I have one in Kindergarten and one in 3rd grade.  I've met the teachers and really like them!  After I put the boys on the but I followed it to school where I had breakfast with them and made sure my littlest was able to make it to his classroom all right.  They came home very excited and happy about their teachers and old/new friends.  I am very happy with how organized and ready Saddleback was for this school year.

My report was he went to school and the bus was orange. I can neither confirm nor deny his statement. But I think that means it went well. Anyone up on their threeyearoldangoniezs

IF the bus is a card for his behavior chart, it means he was not a good boy today. Wasn't bad enough to send to the principal, but wasn't a good boy.
