Well without more details I can't be clear what the hell you are talking about...lol.

I got that he is enrolled in MUSD pre-school. There are only 3 schools in MUSD that have preschools. So without knowing which one exactly she enrolled him in, I would have to make an educated guess (since I know you live in the same subdivision as me) that he got enrolled at the same school my son goes to. In which case, I will give you my input...and hope I'm right.  lol

If that *IS* the case, then I have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about their preschool team!!!!  I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the teachers and the program!!!!  He went for a half a year last year and it quite frankly wasn't that organized. But this year I couldn't have been happier!  They have 3 full time preschool teachers now and the two that I am familiar with are the BEST!

The program itself really worked well for my son who is speech delayed.  He loves going to school, they challenge him, and they send home homework. I know, I know....ugh, homework for a PRESCHOOLER?  Yes, I am HAPPY they send homework home so that I can see weekly what they're working on in class, and I can practice with him at home. I strongly believe that education continues outside of the classroom and apparently so do they because they send home a weekly homework packet (it's like 3 pages front and back at most) and it's due the following start of the school week. That way, on his days off (for him was Wed. and Fri and the weekends) he can continue working and practicing.

I have sat in the classroom on several occasions and just observed how the day is run in my son's classroom and I honestly couldn't be happier with how this year has gone.

That said, I am totally devastated that we are moving and he will not have the same team again!  Speaking of, thanks for reminding me that I wanted to write the superintendent an email letting him know what a great team he has over at that preschool.

After all that, I hope that i am right about where he is enrolled.....lmao!

Wondering the same thing.. which preschool?... hopefully it is Santa Cruz... loved the preschool team there.. Santa Rosa not a big fan.  Santa Cruz actually tried to teach the kids. Homework packets came home every week. Santa Rosa, not one single homework packet - just very different.

I don't recall the exact number but he had stuff on a weekly basis and we worked with him almost everyday.  Did you have Ms. D?

This year has been great at Santa Cruz!  Last year was a bit disappointing for my 4 yr old with all the substitutes, but my 3 yr old had a great year in 2010-11.  She has a great group of teachers, and homework came home weekly.

Same teacher, had homework packet during fall break and winter break... never had homework packets every week. Santa Cruz they sent home a packet every week for you to work with your child on what they were learning in class that week.

We have also been Santa Cruz both years of preschool. Last year was a little bit of a cluster frack because of the sub teachers.

But this year has be absolutely AWESOME!  I have ZERO complaints about our experience this year at Santa Cruz.  My son adores his teacher and enjoys going to school. He has made leaps and bounds in his education this year. Very structured program they have going on.  Homework every week. They implemented a reading program this year too that I love. They require that the parents read to their child for 15 minutes a day and log it in a log it on a reading log each week. I like it because it's so easy for me to pass on a book at night but with this i felt more accountable for reading to them (I have a 3 year old and a 4 year old). So I thought that was a great addition.

That is awesome with the reading log! PB did this and so does DW, why not in preschool too :) The only thing similar to this was Froggie. Froggie came home (this giant green frog in pink boxers with hearts on it kinda strange but OK) and we read to Froggie every night for the week we had Froggie and had to write in the notebook about what we read. Or they could color a picture or do both. Of course Froggie was given to me late because some parents can't follow instructions. :P
