Hi! I'm Melissa (my husband is Luke [melior on here]).  I am in VRED, just got the house in April '09.  I have two children, Alex is  2 1/2 and Adelaide is almost 7 weeks.   I'm also a stay at home mom :)

Haha, I didn't give birth, she's adopted  ;)

Yeah, I've been lurking on his name for a few months now, so I figured it was time to make one of my own.  Addi is letting us sleep, like 9p-6a and only waking up once!

My name is Lorraine and I've lived in Homestead since June 2010. We lived in Scottsdale for 14 years since moving to AZ from California. We moved to Maricopa to be closer to our children and grandchildren. My son is KendoPt4 and my daughter is asugrl. I have another daughter who lives in Tempe. I've been married to Mark for 31 years. He is now working 2 jobs to support us since I was laid off in November. I worked as a medical transcriptionist for 26 years but my last job at John C. Lincoln was offshored to India. The MT field is officially in the toilet now so it's back to school for me....just not sure for what, lol.

Hi Lorraine. Welcome to the forum. I, too, was an MT. Couldn't get any work after graduating. Those who would hire wanted to pay nothing and thought I would be glad for the experience as no one wants to hire unless you have years of experience.
So I went back to my previous occupation and I am glad I did. Welcome to Maricopa. I think you will find it a great place to live.

Welcome to the forum!  Good luck on your search for a new career.  Yeah, I can see how medical transcription could be outsourced - just like technical support.  The trick is to find things in the US that can't be outsourced.  We will come up with new jobs.  We always have.  It's just rough for those who have to go through the transition.

Again, welcome.

Welcome.  I have had beverages with 2 out of 3 of your kids, and I must say you did a good job raising them.  Asugrl is sweet and intelligent (two things rarely found in the same woman), and Kendo is just pretty cool (tough to be when growing up around someone like asugirl).  Thanks for letting us know who you are and we look forward to inspired discussions from you :)

Does this mean asugrl won't be dancing on the tables at the Forum Meetings anymore?
