This morning the latest antenna at the W6SDM antenna farm achieved full erection. It's a 7-element Yagi (a directional antenna that turns on a rotor so that it can achieve maximum gain in a specific direction). It's on a 50-foot tilt up tower. This was a previously owned antenna so it took several weekends to identify all the various parts, replace the ones that needed it, get new hardware, and figure out how the hell it was supposed to go together.
It took a neighbor's jeep, winch, and boom to raise the tower. I had help this morning from fellow hams Dieter, W7DHG, Randy, KC0NNT, and Paul, KE7NEA.
Everything works. Before 20 meters went flat tonight, I got a contact with Tonga on CW.
