H&N Christmas Event
« on: 12 December 2010, 11:47:05 »
Nothing like advertising your event at the very last minute!    ::)

This only came in this morning, so here it is for those who don't already have plans:

Meet MR. & Mrs. Claus!
Special Family Event!

Today  1:00 - 4:00 pm
Rotary Park
Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway

With games, food and Mr and Mrs Claus!
Bring a can of food or unwrapped new toy and have some family fun while supporting your local food bank (F.O.R. Maricopa).

H&N will donate $5.00 for each child who visits Santa to the F.O.R.!

I think whoever drives that car that looks like a box for H&N is confused about something as well...

I love H&N (really, they are a GREAT company - nice owners, are there when they say they are going to be, competitively priced) but this has been their MO for years.  They have good intentions but never can seem to get things off the ground til the last minute.  They were working w/ a woman who was helping them w/ marketing & some other stuff but they didn't take a lot of her advice (according to her, not them) and now she's gone, so I think they are slipping in the advertising / marketing dept.  Although who has to advertise anymore when you're THE premier landscaping company in town now-a-days.   :D   They do a LOT for this community & I commend them for that.

The event was for the rotary club.  They didn't want to do much advertising since it was the first time the event was going on.  It was like a test run to see if it would be something that could be done on a grander scale.  Because of that they purposely did very little advertising.

Think that you'll see it again but with more advertising and on a grander scale.  It went over very well for what the rotary club planned of course with H&N's help  :)

All due respect, that is an odd reason not to promote an event. You can't test run a charity event without advertising to see the potential # of attendees, space needed, supplies required....etc. Calculated risks for sure but if planned correctly w/ at least a minimal amount of marketing will give a much better idea of how a grander scale event will actually succeed in the future.  IMHO of course.   :D

There's always more than meets the eye.  I'm just going to say that:

I'm just thankful that H&N is even willing to help out the kids.  I think that they raised just short of $500 bucks.

The food bank can use all the help that it can get.
