I absolutly agree, PSW. But you know the politics behind the name change.
It really had a lot to handing it off of the City and back onto the folks that had it before.

I saw this coming for the last 2 years.

I really want this to be a success. The first year I was here, Stage Coach days was one of the events we went to. Let's just say that I liked all of the events afterwards a whole lot better. IF this can be done with the same expectations that Fouder's Day brought, I will be a happy resident.

Advertising? Please. We have not seen that for any events in a while. that costs money, and the money back from any one event never pays it back. (Of course having people come down here, like the area and decide to buy a house or invest does, but... Sorry, that is a sore spot with this former PR Photographer)

Yes. There is an all day pass that you will want. I think it runs $18 per person.

The presales have run flat so far.

That's NUTS!  The Pinal County Fair all day ride pass is $18 (at least it was in 2009, the most recent I could find in the few seconds I was willing to spend looking).  Is this carnival going to be as big as the county fair as far as rides are concerned?

The rides this year are provided by Brown Amusements, based in Mesa. The posted price is $1 a ticket. I'm not sure how many tickets per ride, though.

I just came back from the park. The rides are ready to go...just waiting for the riders at 2pm.

The stages are going up and the electric supply lines are all in place for the vendors and Artisans. Here are some pictures from 11am.

This is what you see when you come down Porter and make a right turn onto Alan Stephens Pkwy.

A look down the midway:

All it needs is a load of screaming ankle biters!

Cool shots and plugs, Dave.

Please post some ferris wheel shots when you can.

I would love to see the layout of the event.

The rides are on the NW soccer field. Orbitel has their dome set by the playground. The big stage is on the South fields. Looks like a smaller stage is on the west softball field.

Families starting to show up, ready to ride. It's not open quite yet.

According to the staff on site, the rides do not open until 5pm today. I saw a 2pm start time somewhere.

I have things to do this evening, so I won't be able to be there for starting ride.

The rides are not cheap.  Tokens are $1 each, and most rides take 2-4 tokens.  The wrist band is the better bet if you're going to have the ankle biters riding more than 2-3 rides.

The city announced that Friday's carnival would start at 2pm.

"Stagecoach Days - Carnival
10/8/2010, 2pm
Pacana Park
19000 N Porter Rd
Maricopa AZ 85138"

That is directly from http://www.maricopa-az.gov/vns/index.php/for-residents/things-to-do/stagecoach-days

I feel bad for the kids that went there at 2pm.
