Gaaa... you are all correct.

I don't want to run Buddy T Cat again. He promised to clean out the cat box and wanted no money. LOL

The thing is, though, that there are a lot of qualified people out there that don't mind the salary. Both parties, however, only run who has the best chance of winning one specific run.

...And, to circle back to what was said before, it becomes a popularity contest that has nothing to do with real issues or you and I. Name recognition. Nothing more. (Great example: California with AAAAnold. they will next vote for Moonbeam Jerry Brown, who destroyed California as governor years back.)

It is too late for the governor this time around. I want to see someone emerge for the next run that speaks to me.

Fact is.. Terry-G has a better head on his shoulders.. I am NOT a Democrat.. Brewski is relying on the same playbook Douchebag Joe is.. support of their unconstitutional SB1070 bill..

Follow Brewski's history.. you'll soon realize she is NOT the best we can get..

Again... Follow the money.. You'll soon find Brewski is the one with all those ties.. and the blind "CINO's" are all too quick to be her lapdogs...

Fact is, Terry G is a douche and Brewer is a douchette.

I really hoped that when Nepali-veto left, we would have better leadership.

I was wrong.

It is funny, and it does trickle down to our little corner.... If someone leaves, for whatever reason, make sure you have a good backup.  Otherwise you will be just as dissatisfied, but with a different name on your lips.

The people (ie you and me) have not had representation for a long time.  Those in offices of higher power are there for an agenda - private interest and personal but still an agenda.  While they profess the desire to serve and make the world a better place for everyone, yada yada...they are there in return for X.

The common forum schmo can't run for office - it's way beyond most people financially.  State and Federal positions cost millions of dollars for campaigns.  Heck, it costs $$$ to run for unpaid school board positions.   When someone spends tens of thousands of dollars to run for office that pays less than $30K a year...someone had to get a lot of donations.  And with donations come an expectation.

I challenge everyone to come up with a politician at the State or Federal level that actually is doing good things in their elected position for the constituents.  I bet it's a short list.

I kinda like the appointed idea.  With a twist.  When you are appointed, all of your assets are liquidated and placed in trust, under the same laws and policies as everyone else.  Every decision you make, or vote you cast would effect 100% of your assets just the same as everyone else's.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

And any who do make that very short list are so outnumbered by the ones who aren't on the list that they can't actually accomplish much of anything useful to the people.

I am so sick of voting for the lesser of two evils.

Both parties are at fault. Put someone up worth voting for. (Yes, I know there are independants, ect... in the end they will get 3% of the vote)

Blech, if everybody who votes for the lesser of two evils would vote independent or third party, we'd be a lot better off.  If I had any power, I'd add this after every section where you're voting to elect someone:

Why did you vote for this candidate?
o - He/She is the best person for the job
o - He/She is the lesser of two evils
o - I am a member of the same party
o - I've heard his or her name the most/I don't recognize the other candidates/It would mess up the pretty pattern I'm making to vote otherwise/I didn't want to leave any boxes blank

I think we'd learn an awful lot about ourselves that way.

If you want me to answer your survey honestly you'd need more options.

* candidate is not the incumbent
* candidate is member of the party out of power
* candidate has shortest last name
* candidate has longest last name
* candidate has the best rack

But if I had to pick from the options you've supplied I'd go with the choice that requires less hand motion, thus burning less calories, thus requiring less food the next time I eat, thus reducing the amount of greenhouse gases pumped into the environment on my behalf because I've no doubt they'd delay another shipment of cheeseburgers from China by at least 4 seconds.  Yes I know.  It is very kind of me to think of the children and save their planet for their children's children.  I've very thoughtful and giving that way.  What's that you say?  Why thank you! A medal and the key to the women's locker room would be just swell.
