I tried it as well, didn't work.  The wireless light on the modem wouldn't come back on.  The tech support guy reset our network, had me create a new SSID and all this crap, and finally the wireless light popped back on.  I wish I could explain how we fixed it, but I was extremely hungover and groggy that morning.

As for the Roku, I can't explain that either.  Apparently some others have had the same issue and the consensus seems to be, if it isn't under warranty anymore, you hasve to buy a new one.  Oh well, we still have the Wii to stream movies from for now.  I miss my Pandora radio channels, though.

We've had to do that before as well.. after 24 hours of no internet.. they finally reset it created SSID.. blah blah blah.. we've had more issues with Qwest and internet.. and it always takes at least 24 hours minimum for them to fix. Bye bye Qwest Wink

lol.. well I'm going to orbitel.. we switched cable to them and works better than the direct tv.. so far no issues.. plus I'm getting faster speed with orbitel than qwest gave us, and its going to be about $20 cheaper a month... so we will give it a whirl..

You have DirecTV issues?

I've had them out here for 4 years and have never had an outage or an issue. Same with Qwest. Never had an outage.

Maybe a RED thing? IDK.. I've talked to many people who have or had Direct TV with same issues.. storm, wind, knocks out service.. Qwest has been an issue no matter where we have lived in copa..

Yep. We have Transend and direct TV. Both go down when we have a big storm. Usually just for a short time, and I will take both over the other choices. I have had Direct TV for about 6 years now. I will NEVER go back to cable.

Of course, it does not usually matter to me if they go out during wild weather as I am usually glued to the scanner or out covering something or other.

Since the thread was derailed, I will say that I do have a static IP and run a mail server out of the house. The cost is less than what we were paying for the hardwired system we had in Senita. BTW, DynDNS works great. I used that before I had the static IP. No issues.
