Love the replies. Actually, this panned out a lot like I thought it would.
the next hurdle for Brewer is the 9th Circuit.
We shall see.
What has really bothered me on all of this is that this is really a Federal issue, but they have not done their job, therefore "someone' had to adress the problem.
The failure of this bill, as it is going and will be headed, is that the Feds have more power to say that the border laws are their's and nobody else's... And you can't enforce them either.
The points of contention are, in my opinion, correct.
The issues, however, are not being addressed at all. Seecure the borders. Enforce federal law.
This issue goes back to reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and now Obama.

Mexicans waving the Mexican flag in support of the judge's decision on 1070 is sure ironic considering they are so concerned as being profiled as illegals. I didn't see Italian, Chinese, Japanese, or any other flag being waved. They should be waving the American flag, thanking our federal government for protecting them and continuing to cater to them.
No matter how much it may "hurt", this country IS great enough to let people wave any flag they please for any reason they choose. This IS a great country  Not really, my friend. What if that flag is the Stars and Bars? Several southern states were forced to remove it so as not to offend the sensitivities of some who considered it symbolic of racism. |
