Denver Broncos
« on: 05 November 2009, 10:22:05 »
So.... who thinks its going to be 7-1 after this week against Pittsburgh?  I think it will, but be a close game.  If we do win it will be because of no turnovers on our part, which our last quarteback was famous for.

OH so now I have to school other people... Dolphins -

Dolphins and whales are not fish. Fish is any cold-blooded (poikilothermic) vertebrate animal that lives in water. A fish typically has jaws, fins, scales, a slender body, a two-chambered heart, and gills for providing oxygen to the blood. Fish is capable of breathing under water without making frequent trips to the surface to breathe air like marine mammals. This is due to the fact that fishes have a breathing organ known as gills. This is made up of thin feathery sheets of tissue membrane containing many blood vessels through which oxygen passes allowing fishes to breathe. In other words, fish use their gills to extract oxygen from the surrounding water in which they live.

Dolphins and whales on the other hand, are mammals just like humans and breathe air using lungs, they give birth to live young (rather than laying eggs), and feed their young with their milk. They do not have gills and get the oxygen they need by breathing air, using their lungs. This explains why they come to the surface of the ocean. They have a hole (their nose) in the flat part of the middle of their heads called blow holes. This closes when the whale or dolphin is under water and it opens when they are at the surface and need to breathe.

The Miami Dolphins are a professional football team based in the Miami, Florida metropolitan area. They play home games at Land Shark Stadium, in the suburb of Miami Gardens. They are headquartered at the Miami Dolphins Training Facility in Davie, Florida. The Dolphins belong to the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Dolphins were founded by Joseph Robbie, and began play in the American Football League as an expansion team in 1966, an example of that seminal league's expanding the sport to areas that were not then represented. Miami joined the NFL as part of the AFL-NFL merger. The Dolphins are the oldest major-league professional sports franchise in the state of Florida.

The team made its first Super Bowl appearance following the 1971 season in Super Bowl VI, but lost to the Dallas Cowboys. In 1972, the Dolphins completed the NFL's first and only perfect season culminating in a Super Bowl win, winning all 14 regular season games, two playoff games and Super Bowl VII. The 1972 Dolphins held the fourth perfect regular season in NFL history. The team also won Super Bowl VIII, becoming the first team to appear in three consecutive Super Bowls, and the second team (first AFL/AFC team) to win back-to-back championships. Miami also appeared in Super Bowl XVII and Super Bowl XIX, losing both games.

For most of their history, the Dolphins were coached by Don Shula, the most successful head coach in professional football history. His Dolphins teams posted losing records in only two of his 26 seasons with the club. Six future Hall of Fame members played for Miami during the 1970s, including running back Larry Csonka and quarterback Bob Griese. During the 1980s and 1990s quarterback Dan Marino became the most prolific passer in NFL history, breaking numerous league passing records. He led the Dolphins to five division titles, 10 playoff appearances and Super Bowl XIX before retiring after the 1999 season.

Ty Law signs with the Broncos.

During a season in which Jeremiah Trotter, Junior Seau and Ahman Green each unexpectedly returned to football, cornerback Ty Law will now do the same.

Law and the Broncos have reached agreement on a contract that will add another former Patriot to Josh McDaniels' stable of them in Denver.
