I wonder if this will event will facilitate the process of renewing my passport or be something more like "yay for passports"?

My understanding is that you can apply for and renew passports during this, without driving out of town.

That'd be great!  I got a package of info from City TrailerPark when I bought my permission to do business within the city limits thing, but haven't done anything with it yet.  Now that I'm another 2 weeks away from actually maybe making some money I figured I'd get my drivers license and passport up to date and renewed and all that stuff.  So if waiting till the 27th can make the passport a "one stop shop" type of event then "yay for passport fairs" :)

That leaves me with a DL that has my old address (system knows the new one), and a photo from when I was a fat-faced drunk with a beard.  So I figured I'd waste a day up in the big city getting that modernized.

The passport photo is actually kinda neat.  Very long hair and no beard - a combo that only existed in very rare times in my life.  Obviously when I needed a passport happened to be one of those times.

Do the DL thing in Casa Grande.  The wait is much shorter there than Chandler or Mesa.

Yep. I hate DMV! (MVD here). When I went to Casa Grande I was elated. Very short line. No standing. Clean place and the people at the window did not seem bitter.

I think I spent 15-20 minutes there getting my DL.

Cool.  Dang I gotta try to always remember that.  I just took my real estate agent tests in CG.  The school said the wait for a test seat in the big city sometimes hits 3 weeks.  In CG I gave myself an extra weekend to, in theory, study up some more.  As it turns out I might as well have just done it on the Friday before hand but you never know.

Tomorrow is busy with stuff in the big city, hopefully including some holsters but most certainly involving identifying the best broker for me to align with.  Then Thursday might be groovy new DL day in CG.

Um, we didn't have to go to the big city to apply for our passports.  Went down to city hall and saw the clerk/passport lady and she took care of us.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

For a passport sure, but if one wants a new drivers license one must get travel to a place with an official camera and license-making thing.  Not sure if going to CG for it saved me all that much after all.  Probably did but there ain't much multi-tasking one can do down that way.

Think they said it was an 8 team tourny, start at 8AM at Pacana Park. This year it's coed so they switched to baseball instead of basketball.
